Before

KEEP IT CLEAN

Avoid wearing makeup on the treated area for at least 24 hours. Before bed, cleanse your skin and gently wipe the area with 70% isopropyl alcohol, then apply aloe vera gel. Repeat this routine for the first 48 hours.

SKIP THE SWEAT

No gym, saunas, or heavy sweating for at least 24 hours after treatment. This helps prevent irritation and bacteria from entering the open follicles.

HANDS OFF!

Avoid touching or picking at the treated area. Redness, tiny whiteheads, or micro-scabbing are normal and part of the healing process. Let your skin heal naturally to prevent hyperpigmentation.

AVOID THE SUN

Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 48 hours. If you’ll be outside, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30.

SOOTHE AND HEAL

Use aloe vera gel or Polysporin to help soothe and protect the area until it’s fully healed.

HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!

Drink half your body weight in ounces of water the day before, the day of, and the day after your appointment. Hydrated skin makes for a smoother, more comfortable, and more effective electrolysis treatment.

SKIP THE STIMULANTS

Avoid caffeinated drinks (like coffee and energy drinks) and alcohol before your appointment. Caffeine can heighten anxiety, making your session feel less comfortable. Alcohol dehydrates the skin, which can make treatment more difficult.

LET IT GROW!

Stop shaving 3–4 days before your appointment. Hair should be at least the length of a grain of rice so the tweezers can grab it properly. For most people, this is about 3–4 days of growth.

OPTIONAL NUMBING

If you'd like, apply a topical numbing cream 1 hour before your appointment to help minimize discomfort.

GO EASY ON ACTIVES

Avoid using retinol or tretinoin 3 days before and 3 days after treatment, as they can make your skin more sensitive. If your skin reacts strongly to these products, consider pausing or using them sparingly throughout your treatment period.
